Park back at the marina at Bridge Bay, walk north through the parking lot and into the campground, and look for the trailhead to Natural Bridge Trail, a 1.5 mile walk (3 miles round trip) to--you guessed it--a natural bridge made up of volcanic rock, 50 feet up and 30 feet across. It's an easy, bear-aware walk, and this is what the bridge looks like as you approach.
And closer.
The trail heads right towards the bridge but halfway up, right where the Tour Director is standing, turns right and loops up and around to the back of the arch.
From the backside--I put an arrow on the photo to show where we'd just come from. You can just make out other hikers back on the trail.
One more picture; you can walk down and sort of under the arch. At the bottom right you can see the stone stairs that turn up and to the right, and take you on a path to one end of the arch. You're not allowed out on the arch these days, although I'll bet there's been a couple of organ donors out there even this summer.
Sandi doesn't like heights but she guts it out when necessary.
She lived.
