On the way back up from Sheepeater, under threatening skies
we turned into a short, one-way, car-only loop called the Upper Terrace Drive. I drew a red arrow on the map pointing to the entrance to the drive,
and a green arrow pointing to where this picture was taken: White Elephant Back.

Back at Mammoth, we stopped for a refreshing, and for Yellowstone, inexpensive meal at the Terrace Grill. After dinner and before heading south back to Tower-Roosevelt, we made the loop around the greensward at Mammoth looking, of course, for elk. The entire herd that has made the area their home must have gathered for the evening, at least thirty bulls, cows, and calves. Just a few:
