The Frontier.

After coming back out onto the main loop road we hit Tower-Roosevelt and checked into our little cabin, home for the next three nights. There are two types of cabins at Tower-Roosevelt: the Frontier, with gas heat and a modern shower in a small bathroom, and Roughrider Cabins, with pellet stoves for heat and NO bathroom--you had to walk to a communal building for showers and facilities.

After all the successful trips I've seen her orchestrate I feel comfortable leaving the decisions regarding trip planning to the Tour Director. My confidence in her was only reinforced by her choosing to leave the Roughrider cabins to those lucky few who ENJOY getting up in the middle of the night, putting a robe over their Roy Rogers jammies and bunny slippers on their feet, and risk getting mauled by a grizzly bear just to relieve themselves. We stayed in a Frontier cabin.

Here's a shot to give you an idea of what they look like. That's Sandi tying her shoe.

After dinner in the room we repaired to the porch of Roosevelt Lodge where we spent a very relaxing hour or two just sitting. Sandi had a glass of wine and caught up on her trip journal, while I eavesdropped on our neighboring rockers and took pictures of the sunset. Just what we needed to end a busy day.
